Sr Game Designer (Strategy)

Nimble Giant Entertainment is looking for a full-time Sr Game Designer.

Our Game Design Department is looking for a talented, experienced and passionate Game Designer to join our Strategy Team. Our ideal candidate brings with them a deep understanding of the 4X and Grand Strategy genre, along with the tools to communicate complex systems effectively and efficiently to their team and others.

As a member of the Strategy Team, you will be working side by side with the Game Director to help outline, define and implement high level features and mechanics that will shape the balance and macro design of our games, while also collaborating with other designers and developers throughout their implementation to see them through to the final product.

Responsibilities

Design and document features and systems in line with the Director’s vision.
Collaborate with other developers to create tools and pipelines for these features.
Monitor the different systems in the game and how they interact with each other.
Tweak, modify or redesign features as needed to ensure a healthy and fun balance.
Help mentor and direct Jr Designers to create compelling and balanced content.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience as a professional Game Designer.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Discipline to self-manage and self-evaluate.
Soft Skills to manage and evaluate others.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Desirable Perks

Experience with Unreal, Unity or any 3D game engine.
Experience with iterative design and rapid prototyping.
Experience modding games, specially 4X/GS titles.
Experience with coding or scripting is a big plus.
