What We Do
Driving the plug-in power behind Unreal Engine 5. We bridge connections for licensees and our own internal game teams to online services. This allows games like Fortnite to utilize a combination of online platform services as well as Epic’s own online services to build cross-platform online features. Login, parties, voice chat, matchmaking, purchasing, cloud storage, and analytics are just a few examples of online features that our Online Game Services team helps games utilize.
What You'll Do
We’re looking for a Sr. Fullstack Engineer to be a Tech Lead on the Epic Online Services (EOS) team to work directly on our Developer Portal project and the backend services that support it. You'll work on the project with a full-stack focus in this role.

In this role, you will
Drive initiatives autonomously where your skills in communication, requirements gathering, system design, code construction, and continuous delivery will be constantly challenged.
For different initiatives, you will:
- Define end-to-end feature development, from requirements to implementation;
- Communicate with Product people and Customers using Product Requirements documents and with other Engineers using technical documentation like RFC, Pull Requests, Pair-programming, and white-boarding
- Create Proof of Concepts
- Participate in active development and maintenance of the existing codebase
- Proactively research better ways of engineering the framework components
- Manage backlog of bug fixes, feature requests, and system enhancements
- Enhance CI/CD pipeline to support independent and fast releases
- Facilitate collaboration of the Developer Portal team with other Epic teams
- Support work for establishing shared practices and development standards
What we're looking for
- Deep knowledge of TypeScript, Node.js and experience in architecting systems
- Experience in server-side development and configuring infrastructure, CI/CD
- 4+ years experience crafting secure, scalable, and highly available web applications and services
- Experience writing front-end applications (we use React)
- Focus on service maintainability and security
- Understanding authorization and authentication mechanisms (OAuth, OpenID, JWT)
- Experience with Cloud Providers and Infrastructure-as-code
- Someone who is user-focused, passionate, scrappy, solutions-focused, and innovative
- Someone that understands engineering practices, like TDD, Pair-programming, refactoring, Clean code, and Code design

Pay Transparency Information
The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
California Base Pay Range
$141,900 — $236,400 USD
Washington Base Pay Range
$135,400 — $222,200 USD
