What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a Sr. Analyst Financial Reporting to join our company. The Sr. Analyst responsibilities will include processing montly JE’s, recons, associated control requirements, developing SOP’s, increase efficiency and accuracy of the quarterly tie out binder, and ensuring all assigned SOX control tasks are completed. The ideal candidate will have worked in a successful high-growth company and can bring such experiences to Skillz as we continue to define the future of esports and mobile gaming. The role reports to the company’s Director, Financial Reporting.
What You Will Do :
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the purpose and process of assigned monthly JE's, recons and associated control requirements. Achieved by completing training on assigned monthly tasks and mapping each task with current Sox Controls
- Recommend at least two process improvements and propose implementation plan.
- Complete close tasks on time, including but not limited to JE and reconciliations (measured by 2.5% materiality threshold, for responsible areas, and by ME close checklist)
- Increase the efficiency and accuracy of the quarterly tie out binder. Demonstrated by the creation and documentation of tie out procedures and a reduction in auditor found tie out errors.
- Ensure all assigned SOX control tasks and provided remediation tasks are completed and documented timely (per checklist and remediation plan) and raise any potential issues to manager.
- Ability to roll forward 10Q timely and accurately and with minimal assistance. Ability to prepare footnote spreadsheets and disclosures timely and accurately.
Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles and SOX best practices
- At least 2 years of SEC reporting experience
- Advanced knowledge of excel and hands on experience with workiva
