About the Role
Twitch is looking for a motivated and self-starting Sr. Director of Tax to be part of the Twitch tax team to contribute to our dynamic business. You will be based in Seattle or San Francisco and will oversee and manage Twitch's tax compliance and reporting function, as well as our tax operations function. You will also collaborate and work closely with our tax planning team to identify and address tax risks, potential deficiencies, and opportunities for operational improvements. You will initially manage a team of three direct reports. You will report to the Twitch Head of Tax.
This position can be located in San Francisco, CA; Irvine, CA; Seattle, WA; New York, NY; and Salt Lake City, UT.
You Will:
- Have a partner-centric attitude to collaborate to stay informed about all new product initiatives and launches, geographical expansions, new entity formations, and other items that may impact Twitch's tax compliance and/or tax operations functions
- Be willing to work with a diverse crew of tax professionals who care deeply about Twitch's tax issues and each other
- Support the continued review and analysis of Twitch's tax compliance and tax reporting obligations to stay abreast of the constantly changing local, state, and international tax landscape and identify and address any potential impacts to Twitch's existing tax compliance and reporting requirements
- Manage both in-house and external tax compliance teams and resources relating to direct and indirect tax compliance and tax reporting deliverables
- Be a partner in the design and operationalization of tax compliance and reporting needs around certain tax strategies to ensure that all relevant tax compliance and reporting requirements are met as well as operational efficiencies and potential opportunities for scalability maximized, including leveraging automated processes and resources such as SAP, Vertex, and others
- Draft applicable tax requirements and operational guidelines as necessary to support down-stream tax compliance and reporting requirements
- Develop scalable operational processes for transactional tax compliance and reporting
- Communicate and collaborate closely with the tax planning team to ensure alignment with all current and proposed tax planning as well as in-flight business objectives
You Have:
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance, business, economics or a related field
- 12+ years tax-related experience in either industry, private law, or public accounting
- Can manage and work with all levels of employees and diverse groups
- Can advise or present issues clearly and concisely to all levels of employees including senior management
- Can produce deliverables and manage multiple pressing needs in a fluid setting
- Understand the current digital tax landscape and can review tax return workpapers, tax returns, informational returns, draft and review tax requirements, and design and operationalize process improvements
- Scale and process-oriented with demonstrated consistency, accuracy, and carefulness
- Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Excel (knowledge of pivot tables)
- Experience in an ERP environment: NetSuite/SAP/Oracle ( a plus )

The base pay range for this position in Colorado, Connecticut and Washington is $176,220 - $215,380 yr and in New York City is $193,860 - $236,940 yr. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
