Senior Director of Operations, EA SPORTS

As Sr. Director of Operations within EA SPORTS, reporting to the VP of Operations, you will work with studio management teams to guide the planning, organization and control of operational activities. You will also partner with the management teams of each franchise and external partners to achieve success for the organization. You set and monitor operational targets for the studios and promote activities that achieve the studio and franchise strategic goals. As a member of the Studio Leadership Team, you will also help build studio culture and align studio operations, processes, and communications.

Leadership Responsibilities

• You will provide leadership within the Studio to champion strategic projects to have an impact on future projects and Studio roadmap.
• You will develop and publish Studio Indicators that track project quality, delivery, and financial status and risks.
• You will partner with Studio GM and Senior Directors to review product resource and execution plans.
• You will lead change management strategies to inform and guide Studio programs for implementation.
• You will partner with People Experience to attract new talent, while also developing and growing talent.

Operations Responsibilities

• You will develop and provide oversight and execution around game development processes suited to each franchise, including the Studio's title planning and green light processes.
• Lead process improvement forward through direct and dotted line reports. This would include transparent, predictable and value-added processes for quality product delivery and efficiencies and new ways of thinking about operations.
• Participate in monthly Studio operational/business reviews by presenting important metrics and critical risks / mitigation for projects.
• Conduct operational reviews with development teams, advise on best practices and partner to design creative solutions to challenges that arise.
• You will develop project solutions across multiple disciplines and complex scenarios that consider process, technology, operational capabilities, and site facilities/infrastructure required to accomplish effectively.

Project Management Responsibilities:

• You will assist studios in creating project plans and track milestone dates.
• Manage priorities across multiple programs.
• Handle and coordinate resource planning between studios and central services, identifying and ensuring efficient headcount use across the studios.
• Measure progress and recommend top level actions to address progress shortfalls.
• Anticipate reasonable contingencies.
• Present a knowledge of development methodologies and an understanding of when to use or adapt each one.

Financial / Infrastructure Responsibilities

• You will manage to the studio's operating and capital budgets, resource budget, quality, and predictability targets.

Culture and Talent Development Responsibilities

• In partnership with DEI and PE teams, you will develop the DEI plan for the team and oversee the talent development and manager development process across the BU
• Conduct reviews of team engagement results and actions across the teams and lead the plan for the BU

Requirements:

• 10+ years of operations and leadership experience in the video game industry
• Prepare/present high impact business cases/analyse/recommendations to leadership team.
• Proficient change management skills, ability to challenge
• Shape and run operational activities of the studio teams and set clear targets to achieve studio goals.
• Commit to predictable delivery and risk management.
• You will work with the People Experience team to determine the future shape and changes for the workforce including: outsourcing, insourcing, internal development resources, external development resources/external partners and contingency workforce management.
