About the Role
Trust & Safety is at the core of our efforts to keep Twitch a welcoming and safe place for people to build safe and inclusive communities that allow diverse, global creators to flourish.
Reporting to the VP of Global Trust and Safety, the Sr. Director of Global Safety Risk & Incident Management will respond to emergent risks to our community safeguards, avoid potential risks, and guide implementation of solutions in areas such as operations, products, and policy. You will coordinate with partners across Trust & Safety, Product, Partnerships, Communications, and Legal to guide response and review of safety incidents. Additionally, you will work asynchronously with teams across the globe to ensure delivery of corrective actions.
As the Sr. Director of Global Safety Risk and Incident Management, you will manage team leads with global coordination across three regional hubs, quick response, and issue resolution across markets and different issue departments.
You can work in, Irvine, CA; Seattle, WA; or San Francisco, CA office locations.
You Will:
- Establish a strategic vision for Safety incident management at Twitch along with building a roadmap for the realization of the vision, and building on the roadmap with management of deliverables and expectations.
- Tightly coordinate tradeoff discussions, collaborate and mobilize resources to respond to crises across global teams including Public Policy, Communications, Legal, Product, and Engineering among others.
- Present reporting on the performance, risk, and operations status for the team to leadership, executive committee, and external agencies (auditors, regulators)
- Further improve the teams for success by leading and coaching team incident managers through regular feedback, performance reviews, incident debriefs and resiliency check-ins.
- Demonstrate project management skills
- Lead incident reviews and ad hoc analyses to drive system, process, and policy improvements resulting from Trust & Safety incidents.
- Assist the VP of Global Trust and Safety in driving improvements across programs for Risk and Incident Management
You Have:
- BA/BS degree in a related field of study or subject matter experience in relevant fields, including trust and safety, policy, or legal within social media or technology industries
- Minimum 7+ years of experience managing operational teams preferably in incident management or investigations.
- Experience handling and investigating high profile, emergent issues in the fields of trust and safety, incident response or risk management
- Can work flexible hours to support global teams and on-call for occasional incidents on weekends
- Mentally and emotionally able to deal with offensive or disturbing content
- Experience using data to guide solutions and illustrate impact of decisions
- Experience working with issue/project management tools, such as JIRA or an equivalent
- Experience driving collaboration across multiple product and platform teams.
- Comfort with technology topics and working with sensitive or disturbing content
- Experience working with consumer technology brands that have a global footprint.

The pay range for this position in Colorado and Connecticut is $190,080 - $234,520 yr ; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience . A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act and CT House Bill Number 6380. Base pay information is based on market location.
