Director or Sr. Director, Business Intelligence & Analytics

NCSOFT is looking for a Director or Sr. Director, Business Intelligence & Analytics. In this role, you will work closely with critical business stakeholders within owned, earned, and paid marketing teams as well as closely partner with the production and game teams.

As the Director or Sr. Director, Business Intelligence & Analytics, you will lead a team of analysts and oversee KPI reporting, creative A/B testing, channel optimization, paid media funnel analysis which includes marketing attribution tracking as well as performance forecasting, behavioral analysis, and predictive modeling on both player behavior and financial results. The role will also drive results across retention and monetization for live games by both providing the analysis and insight as well as helping develop strategies to improve both game performance and thought leadership with strategic analysis and actionable insights. The ideal candidate thrives at delivering solutions to complex data problems, has an affinity for data and analytics in support of driving both product-level and business decisions, is a strong team leader and is comfortable working with executives and stakeholders of all levels.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Work collaboratively with leadership, design, producers, data analysts, and data scientists, to present data that will provide actionable insights into our games to improve the acquisition, engagement and monetization of our audience
• Generate actionable reports and recommendations on features that will improve retention, monetization and acquisition
• Owns strategic projects such as long range planning, competitive analysis, and game forecasting
• Lead and mentor team of analysts to support the overall publishing and game business to drive continuous improvement
• Lead the team in the use of machine learning, predictive analytics and other advanced techniques to provide improved results for game and business teams
• Collaborates with operations, finance and studio leadership to help make business critical decisions and recommendations
• Work closely with the publishing, development and Infrastructure teams to build and manage analytics hardware and software
• Share insights with executive leadership and game teams regularly
• Actively engage in our games and develop a deep understanding of game mechanics including gameplay and economy

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

• BA or BS in statistics, business, analytics, data science or related field – MBA a plus
• 8+ years of experience in data and analytics-intensive role with an emphasis on qualitative analysis
• 3+ years of experience managing BI and analytics teams
• Creative thinker with excellent analytic skills and experience with statistical modeling
• Knowledge of and experience with free-to-play economies in games or online entertainment
• Experience or knowledge of gaming industry and/or online entertainment companies
• SQL, Excel and Tableau proficiency, including experience querying and visualizing large, complex data sets
• Strong quantitative skills, and experience utilizing scientific analytic methods, qualitative methods, and quantitative analysis techniques, as well as predictive modeling
• Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources to arrive at optimal problem solutions
• Ability to effectively communicate with people at various levels of business and technical expertise, including the ability to present complex findings in a concise, digestible way
• Team player and self-starter with the ability to liaise with multiple teams and stakeholders
• Ability to work with tight deadlines and handle multiple projects
• Ability to foster open communication, influence others, and write and speak with impact
