Prytania Media is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to work with our studios- Possibility Space and Crop Circle Games. The Data Platform Engineer will design our data platforms & analytics capabilities for our new and growing set of distributed studios comprised of talented developers, engineers, testers, artists, designers, and producers.

Reporting to the Director of Development Platform, you will be partnering closely with our DevOps, QA, and Engineering teams to create data platform buildouts while helping define the long-term direction of our game telemetry, system data, and overall analytics capabilities.

Core Responsibilities & Objectives

  • Collaborate with engineering leaders to craft our Data & Analytics vision and strategies.
  • Provide technical leadership to drive delivery and execution of the overall Data & Analytics technology vision.
  • Develop studio-specific data platform solutions that ingest, secure, store, decorate, and can be visualized.
  • Incorporate core data management competencies including data governance, data security and data quality.
  • Leveraging cloud technologies & manages services in building low-maintenance and highly available solutions.
  • Drive architectural decisions shaping the data platform that supports current and future business needs.
  • Partner with our studios to create a vision and roadmap for analytics by understanding their use cases and data needs and helping them solve problems.

Core Traits (Skills, Knowledge, Experience)

  • Bachelors or graduate education (BS, MS) or equivalent experience in a quantitative field such as math, physics, computer science, statistics etc.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in data engineering, data science or analytical modeling and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
  • Experience with cloud BI technologies (warehouse/datalake, ingress, visualization, ETL etc.)
  • Familiar with data visualization tools like Looker, Quicksight, Power bi, etc.
  • Experience in building scalable and reliable platforms, data pipelines, and game telemetry preferred.
  • Diligent mentality, robust sense of responsibility/accountability, and strong verbal/written communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Bonus Traits

  • Experience with Azure Data Explorer and KQL.
  • Experience developing for a live, service-based product.
  • Experience working in a remote and globally dispersed organization.
