We are seeking an experienced and talented Sr. Backend Engineer.
Project:
- Be part of the core team tasked to build a new platform for event driven backend services using a distributed stateful streams approach based on Kafka.
- Assist in migrating our infrastructure to Kubernetes.
- Help build a high load, low latency production system.
- The system must support a data-intensive mobile application that supports a unique personalized experience for each user in real-time.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar experience in the industry
- 7+ years of back-end development with server-side languages such as Elixir/Erlang, Go, Ruby, Scala or Java
- 3+ year of Cloud platform experience (AWS or GCP)
- Strong Linux/Unix skills
- Fundamental knowledge of networking, operating systems, language design and distributed systems
- Experience with troubleshooting and performance optimization (performance metrics, flame graphs, distributed tracing )
- Working knowledge about CI / CD and infrastructure as a code approach
- Willingness to learn Elixir a must
- Strong English oral and written communication skills
- A fast learner with the ability to self motivate and self manage.
Highly Desirable:
- Experience with Kafka, Cassandra, Elasticsearch or any similar distributed data storage / messaging systems.
- Experience using Elixir in a production environment.
- Experience using Kubernetes in a production environment.
