Senior Animator, Mobile Games - Unannounced Project

We are looking for a talented and experienced senior animator who is excited to create amazing animations that bring charm and life to our characters. If you have a passion for game development and want to participate in the future of Blizzard, we would love to hear from you!

Our ideal senior animator will work closely with designers and artists to conceptualize, design, and implement animations for characters, cut scenes, and props. You will shape the animation style and help players understand gameplay mechanics in intuitive ways.

Everyone on our team is empowered to influence the game direction, and the ideal candidate will have a passion for quality and player experience.

Responsibilities

• Animate characters, cut scenes, and environment props in support of gameplay.
• Drive efforts to improve animation workflows and optimize asset creation pipelines.
• Integrate animations into the game client using Unity3d, Git and Perforce.
• Maintain the unique animation style and visual direction of the project.
• Champion Blizzard’s core values, especially “Commit to Quality.”

Requirements

• 5+ years creating animation artwork for film or video games.
• Experience creating animation blend trees and node-based animation editors.
• Understanding of animation principles and how they can be used to enhance gameplay.
• Experience working within a highly collaborative team of passionate developers.
• Positive attitude and an ability to receive and provide objective feedback.
• Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• In-depth understanding of human and creature anatomy and a keen eye towards creatively representing their movements in unique and inspiring ways.

Pluses

• Foundation in traditional arts including painting, sculpture, figure drawing, and illustration.
• A passion for mobile games, and/or games industry experience.
• iOS and/or Android software development expertise.
• Technical skills such as rigging and/or skinning.
