Job Description
The Sourcing Agent will serve as Magic Leap’s primary point of contact to internal management and external partners for Magic Leap’s indirect procurement organization. You will develop and execute strategic plans by leveraging market intelligence, industry knowledge and cross-functional collaboration. You will negotiate agreements with third parties related to all of Magic Leap’s indirect spend categories (including but not limited to marketing, sales, human resources, facilities, security, information technology, and engineering).
Responsibilities
- Act as the project manager liaising between the business, finance, legal, and any other stakeholder to drive related procurement activities
- Collaborate with business partners to identify requirements and lead supplier selection activities including conducting RFI’s, RFP’s, etc. ensuring that a competitive environment is maintained throughout the procurement process
- Perform benchmarking and drive other market intelligence activities
- Lead total cost of ownership analysis and cost modeling
- Develop strategic sourcing plans/pipeline looking ahead 12 to 24 months
- Build strong and productive working relationships with stakeholders, business partners, legal and finance
- Develop and implement enterprise-wide strategic sourcing initiatives
- Communicate effectively and influence senior leadership and key decision makers
- Utilize the 7-step sourcing process to source the most appropriate vendor
- Deliver aggressive cost reduction objectives
- Ensure compliance to all policies and procedures
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience in sourcing / procurement role
- Bachelor’s degree (CPM/CPSM certification a plus)
- Demonstrated experience collaborating and working cross functionally with internal stakeholders
- Proactively conduct market analysis, benchmarking, track market trends and emerging technologies, and develop metrics to manage supplier performance
- Energetic, positive team player attitude ready for the demands of a high energy, fast-paced company environment
- Superior interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills
- Experience with various sourcing and procurement tools (i.e. SAP Ariba)
- Strong understanding of supplier terms and conditions
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized and self-starter
- Strong business and financial acumen
