Sound Designer II - League of Legends, Personalization

As a Sound Designer, your technical and creative audio skills will combine to bring life to the broad range of characters and experiences in our games. Joining efforts with a multidisciplinary team, you’ll help drive projects from their inception. Using your passion, creativity, and critical thinking you will help guide team decisions and provide valuable feedback to your peers. As a member of the audio discipline, you’ll strive to find ways to teach and level up those around you while continuing to challenge and grow yourself.
As a Sound Designer on Personalization , you will be a product-focused, high-potential individual contributor that receives active mentorship to deliver on their tasks and begin unlocking your potential. You will be primarily focused on designing sound and audio content for a product team, with strong creative guidance and insight from product leads and/or initiative audio leads. You will also be endlessly creative, and driven to level up in craft and process to make your ideas a reality for players. With direction and feedback, you can hit the quality of your craft and are always hungry to apply what you have learned to the next challenge.
Please note, that you will not be involved in the creation or production of music.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the audio vision for characters, skin lines, or other recurring features
- Clearly define and communicate content audio goals including how they align with product goals to direct reports, product leadership, and others
- Working with our external vendors to ensure they deliver high-quality work
- Collaborate with other disciplines to define appropriate processes and pipelines for effective audio content delivery
- Collaborate with music, video, and other central teams to ensure thematic consistency across in-game and out-of-game features
- Record, edit, and design sound effects for game characters, skin lines, and other recurring features using industry-standard methods and tools
- Record sound effects both in the studio and in the field using industry-standard microphone techniques and hardware
- Use in-house engine tools and Wwise to implement assets directly into the game
- Ensure quality of asset output by playtesting and gathering daily feedback on your content from your team and discipline
Required Qualifications:
- Expertise in the holistic game audio process (Sound Design, Voice Over, Music Implementation, Technology, Player Experience, etc.)
- Knowledge of sound design creation tools (ProTools, Nuendo, Reaper, Izotope, Waves, Native Instruments, etc) & techniques
- Knowledge of audio middleware (Wwise, Fmod, Miles, etc.) and overall game engine technology (Unreal, Unity, Lumberyard, etc.)
- Strong communication & collaboration skills
- Ability to navigate stakeholder, senior leadership, discipline, and team feedback effectively
- Ability to own the total quality and value of the experiences we deliver to our audience
- Ability to overcome change & challenges to deliver results
- Ability to develop constructive working relationships with others to achieve team goals and objectives
Desired Qualifications:
- Certificate/Bachelors in audio/music engineering or equivalent industry experience (minimum of 3 years)
- Knowledge of programming or scripting languages (Lua, Python, etc.)
- Knowledge of voice-over processing tools & techniques
- Ability to lead and own mid-scope discipline and product team efforts such as cross-discipline team knowledge shares/classes, etc
