Software Tester - Unreal Engine - XR (Contract)

Epic Games is looking for a contract Software Tester for our Unreal Engine Development team. The person in this role will be executing test plans to verify the quality and stability of existing and newly developed features across the various supported XR kits.

Responsibilities:

• Executing test cases for the Unreal Engine on XR kits
• Identifying and reporting defects found during testing with clear and concise steps to reproduce
• Verifying reported defects and corresponding fixes
• Executing a variety of test techniques to ensure the highest possible quality of product before release
• Working with product owners, developers and embedded QA to define acceptance criteria and identify risks for upcoming features
• Communicating and escalating the impact of issues that are blocking or critical

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience as a Tester for games or software
• Experience working with Unreal Engine 4 or other Game Engines
• Highly preferred experience working with XR Platforms (VR, AR, Mix Reality) or experience working with Target Platforms (Desktops, Mobile, Consoles)
• Understanding of the key components of good defect reports
• Understanding of the software development cycle and where testing falls within
