This is an exciting opportunity for a Software QA Analyst to join the Magic: The Gathering Arena team. We cultivate strong positive relationships across component teams within the company. This role will work closely with other engineers to facilitate development and quality.
The ideal candidate is passionate and hardworking, with a proven track record of working with internal teams and external developers in both small and large scale environments, and who is eager to work with us in our strive to elevate Wizards’ digital efforts to be outstanding.
We are seeking a QA Analyst who will be the guide for end to end quality management of multiple game components and guiding the effort of external and internal testing teams. In this role, you will drive test iteration, planning and contribute to project goals. Additionally, you will handle the defect process, all the documentation and communication responsibilities. You will be a hub of QA finesse.
This position reports to the QA Lead, but will also accountable for interaction and communication with other QA Analysts, Quality Engineers, Producers, Project Owners and Scrum Masters.
What You'll Do:
- Work directly with developer squads to test new game features and functionality.
- Attend daily team scrum meetings.
- Write, review, and run test cases for feature areas.
- Review, edit, and send feedback on test cases.
- Perform bug and game feature investigations, important to the current schedule.
- Demonstrate a basic academic understanding of current QA methodologies.
- Document, investigate, and disseminate defects discovered during test execution on multiple platforms such as PC, iOS, Android and Mac.
What You'll Bring:
- 2+ years in console/PC/mobile videogame experience with at least one commercially shipped title.
- Experience querying items from large databases, such as bugs and test cases.
- Experience testing applications on PC (Windows), Mac, Console or Mobile.
- Expertise with email and technical information distribution.
- Confirmed organizational skills and a focus on attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate across a spectrum of Business, Creative, and Technology personnel at all levels of the organization.
- Experience with and knowledge of digital card games and MTG rules.
- Proven diagnostic, analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for customer service, product quality and reliability.
- Basic Microsoft Office knowledge.
- Friendly, helpful, and collaborative in a team-based environment; self-motivated, results-oriented self-starter with a strong drive to deliver quality products without supervision.
- Ability to work on multiple projects, set priorities and meet commitments - a problem solver who also has a high attention to detail.
- Passion for continuous improvement and a strong desire to learn.
