Software Engineering Lead - Fitness Game

Pipeworks Studios is looking to hire an experienced software engineer to assume a leadership role on a project in the health and fitness space.

Out of respect for our client’s confidentiality, more details on the product will be provided in your first interview. Although it isn’t a game – the tools, processes and technologies are similar to those used in game development.

We don’t expect this project to continue longer than a year – but we’ll be looking at you as a long term hire. Upon conclusion of the project, we’ll want you to fill similar lead roles on other Pipeworks’ projects.

Essential Job Functions

• Act as the technical liaison between Pipeworks’ engineers and our client. This will involve a significant amount of communication over Slack and in Zoom meetings.
• Estimate time to completion on engineering tasks.
• Collaborate with the Lead Producer to manage schedule, scope of work and task assignments to other engineers.
• Write code to implement features and fix bugs.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software development
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in a leadership role, or a strong desire to gain leadership experience
• Proficient with at least one of either C++ or C# programming languages

Nice-to-haves

• An interest in health and fitness
• Experience with any of the following:
  • Git source control
  • Visual Studio

  • Jenkins
• Passion for video games
