The opportunity
In Helsinki, you will work on the Unity Monetization platform, building high-throughput distributed systems on an outstanding scale. You will be doing what Google does on the web – but at Unity with games! What’s more, your work will have a positive impact, helping game developers get paid for their work by powering ads in hundreds of thousands of games.
Our technology stack is built to create solid products allowing us to operate in a high-volume environment. We use Golang, Apache Kafka, Redis, BigTable, MongoDB, Kubernetes and so much more! Stability, quality, and robustness of code is in the heart of Unity, as our advertising network reaches millions of gamers daily. Our teams are highly autonomous and take the lead and responsibility in designing and developing solutions that enable us to scale towards the future.
Quality of service is paramount to our team as we want to make sure our code is robustly tested, and we encourage incremental releases daily. Our continuous deployment strategy enables us to move faster with small iterations validated by data.
What you’ll be doing
- Developing and improving our existing services under team mentorship.
- Ensure quality by supplying features with the right combination of unit, acceptance and end-to-end tests.
- Collaboration with the team on feature development and participating in daily activities.
What we’re looking for
- You are currently studying at a University and looking for an internship during your studies ideally graduating in 2023
- Good programming skills (Java, Python, C, C++, C# or Golang).
- Experience working with projects involving programming tasks.
- Ability to communicate your view points.
- General understanding of databases.
You might also have
- Understanding on working with distributed systems and the communication patterns between them.
- Experience working with Golang or NodeJS.
- Experience on working with Google Cloud Platform.
- Some real professional projects as background.
