The opportunity
The Release Engineering team collaborates with R&D to maintain and improve the quality of all released versions of Unity, across all areas of the Unity Editor and Engine. We solve hard problems in a supportive environment and embody the Unity values of Best Ideas Win, Go Bold, In It Together and Users First.
We have multiple opportunities within release engineering:
Performance
Learn and work with us as we design and implement solutions to reliably test, analyse and report the system level performance of Unity using representative real world projects.
Make an important contribution by identifying performance regressions, that if left uncorrected could make the Unity Editor or Engine slower for our creators and gamers.
Code Quality
Learn how to use industry respected commercial tools and technology to improve the quality of our code.
You will gain exposure to the entire Unity codebase, and learn how software development works on a project of enormous scale — and perhaps more importantly, how it occasionally doesn’t!
Discover more about the full range of technologies underpinning modern game development, and learn about different subject areas while making Unity better for everyone.
Tools
Explore the extent of the core infrastructure and tools required to produce and release a vast product, while learning and practicing the wide variety of technologies and soft skills involved in ensuring the Quality of our Unity releases.
Become an integral part of a growing team while using industry standard technology to support and collaborate with Release Management, Release Engineering and beyond.
This is an 11 month paid internship starting in summer 2022, based in the Brighton, UK office.
