Software Engineer, Production Engineering

Unity powers over half the world’s mobile games, serves billions of ads each month, processes petabytes of data, and provides a suite of tools for developers to leverage so that they can spend their time making great games.  On the Production Engineering team at Unity, you’ll act as a force multiplier for those products, enabling teams to rapidly develop, build, deploy, and productionize high scale, high quality services.  

We’re looking for a consummate generalist to join the Production Engineering team and wear a bunch of hats with us.  You’ll touch a lot of different systems across a lot of different teams, perform roles ranging from SRE to service developer to cloud manager to subject matter expert on problems of scale, and be the advocate for the customers of Unity services, external or internal. Our goal is to empower All the Production Things at Unity, and you can be a critical part of that, driving us and our partners to ever increasing heights of prod awesomeness!

Responsibilities

• Architect and build reliable, resilient, high scale tools and services
• Utilize our blameless Incident Management process to help service owners mitigate and resolve production issues
• Work with partner teams to productionize their services
• Drive for best development and prod practices with service owners across Unity
• Socialize knowledge about how to solve hard problems 
• Own every stage of your project, from requirements gathering to post-release support

Requirements

• Experience as a developer, DevOps, or SRE
• Familiarity with Go or Python
• Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts

Bonus Points

• Linux / BSD experience (++ for sed / grep / awk power!)
• Kubernetes management and usage
• GCP / AWS administration
