Software Engineer - Physics

We are currently looking to welcome an experienced Software Physics Engineer with a proven background in games development.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will collaborate in a distributed team on the continued development of our collision, rigid body simulation, cloth, destruction, character physics, and other libraries.
- You will be responsible for the full simulation of physical bodies within the game world, particularly high-performance vehicles.
- You will collaborate in a distributed team on modelling of complex vehicle drive trains, tyre friction, aerodynamics, rigid body dynamics, collision detection, surface deformation and fracture etc.
- You will develop tools, workflows, and user interfaces to empower game makers.
- You will complete all aspects of software engineering including debugging, documentation, and optimization.
- You will build engineering skills and physics simulation knowledge with experienced team members.
- You will work extremely closely with the vehicle handling team to produce accurate simulations of vehicle characteristics.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Strong C++ knowledge
- Previously worked on completed game projects
- Extensive computer architecture knowledge
- Cross platform and console experience
- Experience of debugging and profiling tools
- Rigid body dynamics, forward and inverse kinematics
- Collision detection
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- A degree in a relevant subject (particularly Maths or Physics)
- Scrum and agile processes
- Friction modelling
- Dynamics solvers (LCP, MCP, impulse based)
- Vehicle dynamics
