Software Engineer - League of Legends, Gameplay: Champions

Riot engineers bring deep knowledge of specific technical areas but also value the opportunity to work in a variety of broader domains. As a Software Engineer, you’ll work with both new and current technology, creating innovative solutions to overcome high-volume obstacles and to deliver player value.

As a Software Engineer on the League of Legends Champions Team, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to bring new characters to life. As the champion moves from pre-production all the way to ship, you will be among the voices defining all aspects of who and what your champion is. You will discuss and establish the needs of art, design, and audio in a highly collaborative environment . You will build new technology in a variety of game systems to meet those needs.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and prioritize tech requirements for new game systems and champion features
• Form relationships with content creators
• Influence software engineering best practices within the team, including design reviews, coding standards, code reviews, tools improvements, source control management, and test/build/deploy processes
• Develop sustainable solutions, improving the engine and leaving it better than you found it
• Help shape the identity of each champion

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years game industry or media engineering experience
• Collaborative mindset and experience working with others disciplines
• Familiarity with iterative development methodologies like Scrum, Agile or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with C++
• Familiarity with game engine tools, workflows and content pipelines
