Software Engineer Intern (6 to 9 months)

The Role

As a Software Engineer Intern within the Player Immersion & Expression (PIE) initiative, you'll report to the team's Engineering Manager. The internship is planned for 6 - 9 months on a full time basis. You will take product ideas around discoverability and acquisition of content and bring them to life. The mission for the Player Immersion & Expression (PIE) initiative on League of Legends is to "create immersive offerings of expression, commemoration, and delight to amplify player experiences in League". One strategy, among others, that we use to work towards this mission is through creating feature-rich content. But it doesn't stop there. We help players to discover and acquire this content at the first source of inspiration! This is where your expertise comes in.

Potential Responsibilities:

• Enhance and maintain players experiences within the League of Legends client
• Enhance and maintain the backend service that underpin the above experiences

Internship Qualifications:

• Authorized to work in Ireland
• Available on a full time basis for the period of the internship
• Completed or currently completing a BS in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)

Required Qualifications:

• Familiarity with web development languages such as HTML, CSS and Javascript
• Familiarity with an object oriented programming language like Java

Desired Qualifications:

• Familiarity with web development frameworks such as Ember, React or Angular.
• Familiarity with building RESTful Backend APIs
