About your future team:
Production Infrastructure & Engineering (PI&E)
Production Infrastructure & Engineering (PI&E) organization provides the essential platforms and infrastructure hosting solutions that power EA's live services. Our charter is to make EA's games and services available to all players anytime and anywhere. To do this, we focus on the high availability of infrastructure, primary services, and studio services. We aim to help developers to experiment and build new games quickly with infrastructure services on-demand and workflows that promote rapid development in the cloud. In all of this, we focus on being there for players where and when they want to play.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product, program and project management to ensure clarity and understanding of features and priorities.
- Participating in an on-call rotation with our other team members.
- Authoring runbooks, configuring dashboards, automating alerts, and finding strategies to automate away pain.
- Implementing and supporting Kubernetes-based infrastructure.
- Develop and monitor clusters running micro services hosted on different cloud providers.
- Collaborate with the team to design and drive the development and quality processes, coding standards, and practices.
- Create API based services in Go and Typescript.
- Distributed systems experience and a deep understanding of how web-related services (load balancers, high availability solutions, web servers, databases, caching daemons, etc.) work.
- Efficiently develop code meeting peer-reviewed code standards, using team-selected tools.
- Collaborates with support teams and partners to debug and resolve production incidents with deployed products.
- We love and support open source software at EA and we use projects like:
- Backstage
- authzed/spicedb
- Kubernetes
- Prometheus (logging and alerts)
- Interacts with, and contributes to, the open source software community as it intersects with our work.
- You may not be an expert on the front-end, but are able to pick up and work with JS/React once in a while.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate coursework in Data Structures, Distributed System.
- Passionate about shipping high-quality services every day.
- Demonstrated programming skills and experience across the application lifecycle.
- Experience building, deploying, running and supporting highly-available, high-scale, secure infrastructure, and distributed applications in a cloud service with Kubernetes.
- BS Degree (Preferred) in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.

- Language Proficiency: Golang, Typescript, Node.js, Express.
- Dev Ops: Kubernetes, Docker, Prometheus.
- Cloud Providers: AWS,GCP, Azure (yes we use all three).
- Database: Relational (MySQL, Postgres) NoSQL (self managed MongoDB, DynamoDB) .
US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, degree type (e.g. Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD), what stage you are in your degree journey (i.e. freshman, sophomore, etc.), qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

º $25 - $38

º $24 - $26
• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
º $30 - $38
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
º $25 - $35
• Jersey City, NJ :
º $30 - $38
The hourly pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including 80 hours per year of sick time (prorated based on scheduled hours per week if less than full-time), 16 paid company holidays per year, medical insurance, and 401(k).
