Software Engineer II – Game Integration & Validation

We are seeking a candidate to join our game integration platform to
bring gameplay and platform experiences closer together! As a team
member for the game integration and validation platform, you will
have the opportunity to work at the intersection of SDK technologies,
game development and infrastructure. You'll be responsible for
prototyping fast and effectively with experimental technologies and
bringing new PlayStation experiences into gameplay features. Come

Responsibilities:

  • Prototype a cross-platform game codebase looking at PlayStation
    specific features across multiple generations of the PlayStation
    platform
  • Design and author Unreal Plugins and gameplay to expand a PC
    developer sandbox environment for internal developers to create
    engaging demonstrations of platform features and capabilities
  • Building and documenting gameplay features to exercise
    unreleased platform SDKs and network capabilities
  • Documenting integration challenges and experience with pre-
    release features and structuring feedback for development
    teams across game client and server
  • Participates in team scrum processes - (e.g. plan/review/retro,
    daily stand-ups, maintaining board, identifying risks and
    blockers)
  • Collaborating with developers, product managers, technical
    program managers, etc. to refine specifications
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in STEM related field (or similar work experience)
  • 3+ years professional experience in games or similar field
  • Strong C++ or C# skills, especially developing in Visual Studio
  • Experience developing with Unreal Engine, Unity3D or similar
  • In-depth experience building, profiling, analyzing and debugging self-contained features
  • Experience blending, refactoring and extending an existing codebase
  • Strong written communication skills and habits
  • Experience w/git or p4v in a production environment
Bonus qualifications:
  • Experience shipping titles on a modern console a strong plus
  • Windows environment development experience
  • Cloud-gaming experience (particularly AWS- e.g. GameLift)
  • Knowledge of debugging device-specific areas with Windows, Mobile, or Consoles

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$125,800 — $188,600 USD
