Blizzard Entertainment Global Growth Marketing is looking for an engineer

with software and data backgrounds to help streamline personalization using

modern marketing technologies. We are building platforms, products, and

frameworks to deliver enriching and engaging experiences for our new and

existing players.

Covid-19 Hiring Update: We’ve transitioned to a work-from-home model and we’re continuing to interview and hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position. We understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore possible interim options.

Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer for Global Growth Marketing, you will be responsible for

design, implementation, and maintenance of data pipelines, infrastructure,

and services for Blizzard Global Growth Marketing’s data platform.

• Architect data ingestion in batch and real time
• Enhance and maintain a robust cloud data platform
• Support and service Marketing Analytics, Paid Media Activations, and Email CRM operations for all technical and data needs
• Align and communicate expectations of deliverables with stakeholders
• Collaborate and champion Blizzard Core Values

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years’ experience on an engineering team building back-end data services, APIs, or integrations in a large-scale production environment
• Experience with Data Warehouse Technologies (BigQuery a plus)
• Data pipeline and ETL frameworks
• Cloud Infrastructure experience such as GCP
• Have technical design and architecture experience, understanding costs, benefits, and tradeoffs in engineering and implementation
• Strong knowledge of Python and SQL

Pluses

• Google Cloud Data Engineering certification
• Building and working with APIs
• ETL Tools and Frameworks (Airflow a plus)
• Worked with modern marketing technologies
• MPP Database Solutions, Data Warehousing Technologies
• Cloud Infrastructure Experience: DevOps build pipelines, alerting and monitoring techniques and best practices (Jenkins, Kubernetes, Terraform pluses)
