Software Engineer - Core Technologies

Uken Games has an opportunity for a Software Engineer to join our Platform Team. This role will work on developing core technologies used by all teams affecting the entire playerbase. This role will be responsible for development, code review, code quality, pairing, designing, estimating and planning. The Software Engineer will also spearhead a new initiative at Uken.
You’ll be working on meaningful things like:
- Taking ownership of shared libraries and keeping high quality standards
- Collaborating with all teams at Uken with the ultimate goal of building a world class product
- Building Uken’s core technology with the Platform Team including our Chief Architect
- Core tools and libraries used by all our teams to connect game clients to our various systems
- Innovating and promoting best practices across Uken
- Sharing knowledge across team and across the org
Your background should include:
- 5+ years of experience in OOP, preferably in Java or C#
- Experience with client-side and at least understanding of server-side development
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience measuring, optimizing and automating everything
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent
It's a big plus if you:
- Are curious about new technologies and can easily adapt
- Have experience developing for resource restricted environments (e.g.: mobile phones)
- Contributed to an Open Source Project
