Staff Software Engineer, Backend / eCommerce

We are looking for an exceptional, self-driven systems engineer to build components that power a wide range of complex backend systems ranging from our eCommerce engine to game services, as well as develop tools and analysis pipelines to support logistics and finance functions.
Engineering these components to be reliable, scalable, and cost effective is crucial. You will work on all aspects of building infrastructure for a company with a large and rapidly growing user base.
Working with a great degree of autonomy, you’ll have the ability to shape and influence your work across all aspects of engineering design on all back-end services.
You will not only contribute with your individual efforts, you will be helping to evaluate and set priorities for the backend services.
In additional to your contributions as an individual, a high-level of collaboration is required across job functions to provide your expertise on backend services.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer backend systems to support a large eCommerce engine and games services.
- Build tools and data analysis pipelines to support finance, logistics and customer service departments.
- Take advantage of Google Cloud, SQL databases and other components to build fast and reliable systems at scale.
- Take high-level business goals and design engineering tasks and services to support those goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in CS, EE, IT or a related field.
- 7+ years of general experience in software programming in any of Java, C++, and Go.
- Fast, productive, and detail oriented.
- Experience with Linux/Unix.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs or RPC
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
Preferred
- MS in Computer Science.
- 7+ years experience with scalable backend development.
- Familiarity with Salesforce and Netsuite a plus.
- Solid knowledge in distributed systems and multi-threading.
- Familiarity with Go, Dart, Shell scripting a plus.
