Software Development Manager

Summary

What you'll do

• Build team and enhance its competencies to deliver iGaming Lonestar platform as per business requirements in fast changing exciting environment.
• Lead the development effort while coordinating with various stakeholders like Software Architects, Project Manager, Creative Leads, Engineering, Technology and DevOps Group across India and US.
• Team Management: Responsible for people management of the team-members. Mentors and guides team members. Provide feedback and coaching to team members through regular communication and performance appraisals to maintain a culture of high-performance energetic team. Identify Training needs of the team and to execute the training plan to constantly enhance the skill levels of the team.
• Delivery Management: Ensure timely deliveries with agreed quality of all the tasks undertaken by the team. Point-of-contact in case of production issues and ensure that they are resolved in agreement with the business stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Management: Bring in transparency in the day-to-day functioning by effective status reporting. Manage issues/risks as they arise to minimize impact to delivery.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive change to improve estimates and delivery quality. Focus on cross team success. Work well in a team environment. Assist team members in all areas to achieve successful sprints and retrospectively provides feedback for continuous improvement.
• Setup development and AW4SW processes. Regularly monitor and improve the timeliness, productivity, and quality of SW deliverables.
• Participate in planning activities - Identify dependencies and follow up to their resolution. Identify and raise risks in a timely manner and take necessary action to mitigate the same.
• Hiring and onboarding of new members of the team.
• Work with Sr. Management to accomplish business goals.

What we're looking for

• B. Tech. / BE / MCA /M. Tech. in Computer Science with 11+ years of relevant experience. It’s a Techno managerial position (50% technical + 50% managerial)
• Must have experience as a technical leader to enterprise scale development team and have a deep understanding of Product Development lifecycle with ability to appreciate multiple points of views from different job functions.
• Must have experience in coordinating with remote teams located in different time zones.
• Good communication skills in written, oral and presentations
• Good to have gaming background.
• Experience in modern software engineering processes & delivery mechanism

• Strong debugging and analytical skills
• Business and domain acumen
• Good people management skills. Should be able to mentor technical resources
• Ability to involve in discussions such as appraisals and career growth of the team members
• Very good communication skills – both verbal & written
• Articulate and should be able to express ideas and issues without inhibitions

• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Innovative thinking in problem solving.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience in Project Management and Planning
• Knowledge of Release process
• Good experience in designing, shipping, and maintaining server-based systems in Linux or Windows environments
• Solid experience working on complex systems or SDKs, ideally with multiple customers
• Experience developing with Unity and Cloud-based hosting environments: Google Cloud Platform, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Soft Layer
• Knowledgeable in following per area:

• Server frameworks: Node.js
• Development languages: TypeScript, JavaScript, C#
• Storage technologies: MySQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB
• Automation and deployment tools
• Continuous integration
• Aware of technologies like REST

• Must have experience with:
  • Bug tracking
  • Distributed source code control
  • Hands-on experience in SVN or GIT, aware of branching, merging etc.
  • Strong knowledge of Object Oriented and Design Patterns
• Nice to have experience in:
  • Experience developing with C++
  • Client-side tools and frameworks (jQuery, Angular, React)
  • Caching and scalability infrastructure components
  • Social gaming
  • Mobile development
• Preferences
  • Prior experience in the mobile/web gaming industry is a plus
  • Work experience in Real Money Game development
  • Experience working with Google Cloud is a plus
  • Experience with an Agile development methodology, preferably Scrum
  • Prior experience with HTML5 game development framework
