About the Role
Twitch enables content creators to live-stream content to their communities across the globe. Our suite of promotional products help creators, brands, and sponsors accelerate the growth and engagement of their communities. You will work with a passionate team to work on greenfield promotional products to democratize content discovery on and off Twitch through the participation in and construction of content marketplaces.
We are looking for an engineering leader with the curiosity, drive, and creativity to build our nascent promotion business. The ideal contributor has experience building and delivering high-quality full stack products and services in a high-scale consumer environment. As the leader in this space, Twitch has a unique opportunity to invent promotional products in a live-streaming context. Our products will include new real-time experiences specific to Twitch. This position can be located in San Francisco, CA; Irvine, CA; Seattle, WA; New York, NY; and Salt Lake City, UT.
You Will:
- Hire and develop a team of engineers
- Help shape the roadmap, and inspire a high-performing team to deliver the right products for our customers
- Build, own, and operate reliable experiences, systems, and services
You Have:
- 7+ years of relevant software development experience , including hands-on technical expertise in full stack and/or distributed systems design and development
- 4+ years of people management experience , managing engineers
- Experience partnering with product and program management teams to define and deliver on product roadmaps
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent technical education and work experience
- Solid software development background including design patterns, data structures, testing automation and operational excellence
Bonus Points
- Experience in the advertising industry
- Experience building and/or integrating large-scale ML solutions
- Familiarity with all/some of our tech stack: Golang services exposed in gRPC/Protobuf-style RPC framework, infrastructure on AWS (EC2, S3, ECS Fargate, SQS, SNS, Kinesis), GQL and REST at the edge, and React, TypeScript, Redux on the web frontend
- Good UX/UI sense and an ability to work with designers.
