Summary:

The manager will oversee the IT developer teams for E-Commerce and ensure the best performance in project execution and the quality in the deliverables according to planning and budget validated.

Responsible of the solutions, their scalability, security, evolution, interoperability with other systems. Provides technical direction for the development, design and systems integration across multiple client engagements from definition phase through implementation.

And the most important part: manage a teams of skilled developer. This team is continuously growing and eager to learn.

Responsibilities:

The main and routine tasks of this position are to:

· Always think and act with clients’ and end users’ satisfaction in mind

· Provide strategic counsel, visibility and consistent results to clients

· Determine acceptable quality standards for product delivery;

· Supervise and assess developers, team leads and other employees;

· Work closely with developer teams to assess their requirements and ensure the platform is designed with operability and ease-of-use in mind;

· Oversee work team activities, especially by following up on requests and department mandates;

· With the production manager and architect, challenge the technical and informatics teams on technological decisions;

· Create an environment built on trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort

· Encourage creativity, risk-taking, and constant improvement

Qualifications

Training:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering and a certificate in project management or equivalent experience.

Experience:

· Minimum 6 years experience in developing complex, distributed software systems backend or frontend

· 4 years’ experience in management for a team of developers

Skills and knowledge:

· Strong experience with applications design and development practices (preferably E-Commerce domain, PHP stack, AWS)

· Understand the benefits of the various programming languages and accurately suggests the use of the appropriate technology

· Excellent leadership and communication skills;

· Ability to delegate and build accountability;

· Ability to collaborate with individuals at all hierarchical levels and in different teams and with direct collaborators;

· Ability to quickly adapt to change;

· Results focused;

· Bilingualism (French-English);

· Ability to function effectively in a fast paced environment and manage multiple concurrent projects;

· Knowledge of distributed systems is an asset

· Strong creative and analytical problem-solving skills, strong sense of ownership and a self-starter
