Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Niantic Quality Assurance Teams are seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to implement test automation for Niantic games and platform components. You will work closely with Technical PMs, QA Engineers, QA Manager, and Developers to deliver best-in-class technology solutions for our platform test automation.
This opening represents multiple SDET roles with various areas of ownership.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and extend automated tests for the Niantic Platform and/or assigned Niantic Games.
- Contribute to development of automation frameworks and test tools that enable fast creation of web, mobile application and API level automated tests.
- Collaborate with other SDETs, engineers, product managers, QA, and other departments to ensure code and automated systems meet internal standards.
- Participate in the review of QA and Engineering procedures and provide recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science.
- Minimum of five years automation development experience.
- Showed strength and experience with C# or Java.
- Strong experience building efficient and scalable API/Libraries/Services.
- Experience with mobile, web UI, and API test automation frameworks (Appium, Cypress, and other automation tools).
- Experience designing and developing automation tools/systems from scratch.
- Meticulous and can identify critical areas that need focus.
- Ability to think about long-term impact and identify risks.
- Experience working with highly-scalable systems.
Plus If
- Working experience with Unity.
- 2+ years of Games Industry experience.
- Proficiency in Node.js.
- Experience with GitLab, Gradle and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Java, C++, shell scripting (bash) and Python.
- Understanding of QA methodology and tools.
