About the Role

Like building solutions, solving hard technical challenges, and helping content creators earn a living doing what they love? Are you excited by the idea of making hundreds of engineers more effective? If so we may have a home for you on the Builder Products team. We're looking for an experienced backend engineer to help us ship performant, high-quality, and delightful products.

Through a lens of pure customer obsession, we create internal products and services that address important areas such as availability, latency, security and cost. As a software engineer on the team, you will build and scale systems that underpin the observability of Twitch's systems. Being part of the Platform organization, you'll work with teams across Twitch to advise, partner, and build such solutions. You will report to the Engineering Manager for Builder Products.

You can work in San Francisco, CA; Irvine, CA; Seattle, WA; or remotely anywhere in the Pacific Time zone.

You Will:

• Build systems and products that bring visibility and enable consistency in critical areas, such as availability, quality, and security, to every team, engineer, and product owner at Twitch.
• Proactively identify solutions to problems before they impact our users
• Level up our team by contributing to software architecture and design
• Practice day-to-day ownership and customer obsession for all aspects of our products

You Have:

• 4+ years of professional experience as a software development engineer
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
• Ability to write quality software in one or more of the following languages: Java, Go, C++, C#, Python, or Ruby
• Experience designing, building, testing, and supporting backend services

• Know Go and have used it in production ready systems

The base pay range for this position in Washington is $143,700 - $194,400 yr . Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience . A sign-on payment and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
