Software Development Engineer IISummary
o The Database Engineer position is responsible for end to end development and analyzing, designing, coding, writing and running unit tests, and debugging SQL programs.
o The person would be a member of the India based development team part of department spanning 2 locations, India and US.
o In addition to core development and coding responsibilities, the role requires working with US counterparts (Architects / Developers) in execution of overall project/release at the regional level. It is expected to follow design/coding guidelines provided by the architect group and work in collaboration with team members to produce quality products.
o Part of the department and the group which works on latest SQL development tools and technologies.What You'll Do
- Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience.
- Must possess strong technical and analytical skills set. Should be able to work with minimal guidance and contribute towards overall sprint/project success.
- Candidate should be open to travel for short durations.
- SQL Developer having strong hands-on experience in developing Applications using SQL Server DB in Agile development environment.
- Strong experience in writing complex Stored Procedures, User Defined Functions (UDF), Views and common table expression (CTE) etc.
- Strong experience in SQL Server database 2017 and above.
- Skilled at optimizing and refactoring large complicated SQL procedures.
- Skilled at tuning queries and understanding query plans.
- Good to have exposure with SSAS and SSRS.
- Experience in trouble shooting SQL Server performance issues.
- Experience with ErStudio, ErWin or some other data modeling tool.
- Experience with SQL Reporting Services, Integration Services and/or Analysis Services a plus.
- Hands-on experience in TFS and GIT, aware of branching, merging etc.
- Strong debugging and analytical skills
- Able to think about end-to-end solution.
- Able to grasp functional aspects well (quickly and with minimal guidance).
- Good inter-personal skills. Should be able to mentor others technically.
- Very good communication skills – both verbal & written.
- Articulate and should be able to express ideas and issues without inhibitions.
- Ability to drive discussions towards conclusions.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Innovative thinking in problem solving.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
What We're Looking For
- B. Tech. / B.E. / MCA /M. Tech. in Computer Science with 4-6 years of relevant experience.
