About the Role
Are you passionate about C#, microservices, and massive scale? You will be part of the Client Delivery Platform team, building public and internal infrastructure that empowers Twitch client development teams to be successful. As a Software Development Engineer, you will extend the globally distributed software delivery platform for Twitch's clients in AWS. You will work on microservices in C# and .NET Core. You will also have project opportunities to work on tools, lambda functions, and test infrastructure, sometimes working in Go or TypeScript. You will build services that support multiple development teams and bring Twitch to millions of customers. You will report to the Engineering Manager for Client Delivery.
You Will:
- Work with technical leads and other engineers to design and develop service features
- Write, test, and deploy high-quality, professional grade code that operates at large-scale
- Contribute to customer-focused project deliveries
- Work with other teams to clarify requirements and solve challenging technical problems
- Be a multiplier of the team's impact, velocity, and technical excellence by improving engineering processes and tools
- Participate in design and code reviews
- Rotate on call to support infrastructure services
You Have:
- 5+ years commercial software development experience
- Proficiency in C# and .NET Core
- Proficiency in Go or a willingness to learn
- Familiarity with AWS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Experience with web services, asynchronous programming, data structures, algorithms, and security patterns
Bonus Points
- Proficiency in TypeScript
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code
- Experience with databases and SQL
- Experience supporting large-scale, highly available web services
- Familiarity with Selenium grid or other browser test frameworks
- Experience in the gaming industry, or as a Twitch user, broadcaster, or partner
- A passion for coffee or strong opinions about pineapple on pizza
