Software Development Engineer, Social, New World

Job summary
New World is an Open World MMO that pits players against the haunted wilderness of Aeternum, a mysterious island in the twilight of the Age of Exploration. Success in New World ultimately depends on a player’s ability to conquer not only rival players, but Aeternum itself, as it unleashes undead legions, hell-bent on purging them from its shores.

As an engineer on our Social team, you will implement server, services and client side technology to realize social features that bring our players together and build a healthy, vibrant community. You will work with designers, artists, testers and other engineers to design, implement, debug and provide live support for social features in New World. You will have opportunities to contribute to other parts of New World's technology as we focus on what will benefit the players most.

Key job responsibilities
· Integrate social features such as Voice, Chat, Friend, Match making system into the game.
· Be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying major systems for social features. Ensure features are integrated cleanly with existing frameworks and platform infrastructure.
· Assist in developing project plans and commitments, and then deliver consistently against those commitments.
· Be a champion for the gamer: Build games that thrill and entertain our players and constantly create new ways to delight customers.
· Empower UI designers through rapid iteration and creation of top-notch tools.

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science, Engineering, or Math related field
· Experience working with commercial, web or game user interfaces
· 1 years of experience working in the game industry or related field
· Comprehensive understanding of C++

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience writing with scripting languages such as LUA, ActionScript, Python.
· Good debugging skills.
· Unity, Unreal, CryEngine, Lumberyard or other 3D game engine development experience.
· Great communication skills and ability to work effectively on shared projects with designers, artists, testers, and other developers.
· Passion for games
· Experience working with social SDKs integration
