Software Developer - Xbox

Our mission in the Xbox platform team is to make Unity the best engine choice for Xbox and Xbox Series X|S developers. Using new DirectX 12 features, unlocking the potential of Xbox Live or making Unity Xbox games run ever faster is what gets us up in the morning. We also love to work together with Unity developers to make their Xbox games even more incredible!

We’re looking for a Software Developer to join our small but skillful team in Stratford-upon-Avon. You’ll be a trusted part of the group, working on significant improvements and cutting edge features specifically for Unity on Xbox.

Unity is used in a huge and diverse range of Xbox games across all genres. You will have the opportunity to develop and influence technology used by Xbox developers in studios all over the world. You’ll also be given the time and support to grow your knowledge in technical areas you’re interested in.

You’ll work with us in a couple of converted farm buildings, surrounded by sheep and tractors. Our office environment is informal, relaxed and frequently full of cake. With your help, titles built with Unity will continue to be some of the best games on Xbox.

Responsibilities

• Develop solid and performant engine systems
• Maintain existing systems, improving performance, testability and stability
• Improve test infrastructure to allow more developers at Unity to test on Xbox efficiently
• Work with cross-functional teams to bring new engine features to Xbox
• Stay up to date on the latest development practices for both Unity and Xbox

Requirements

• Experience developing with Unity and C#
• Multi-platform programming experience in games or middleware
• C++ programming language knowledge
• Customer-centric and empathetic approach to supporting our customers and users

Bonus points

• Experience with Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S development
• Passion for Xbox platforms and games
• Knowledge of Computational Complexity and related Mathematics
• Experience with assembly language
