The opportunity
Our mission in the Unity profiling development team is to produce industry leading performance monitoring and analysis tools, offering our users insightful and actionable views into the performance of their applications.
Our key objective is to build a unified profiling offering that is inherently stable, performant and trustworthy.
We are looking for new colleagues to join our enthusiastic, experienced, distributed and friendly team working on profiling and performance tooling. Our tools enable creators to include more content, run on more devices, reduce energy usage and build more awesome visual experiences.
You will be working day-to-day on the Unity profiling technology stack including in-editor, runtime and on-device development.
Your work will impact developers all over the world, in studios big and small. With your help, titles built with Unity will continue to be some of the best games being created!
What you'll be doing
- Work as part of the development team at every point in the product development cycle
- Innovating to produce meaningful insights on game performance
- Code up high-quality solutions, working at every layer of the software stack
- Work with teams within Unity to help build extensible, cohesive and consistent tooling
- Maintain existing technology, while improving performance, testability, stability and usability
- Promoting performance tooling and supporting other teams working to produce efficient software
What we're looking for
- Ability to learn from others and proactively contribute your knowledge to the team and the company at large
- Experience with the C++ and C# programming languages
- Awareness of profiling tooling and software optimization
- Understanding of key processor/hardware components and resulting software development methodologies
You might also have
- Passion for profiling and performance tooling
- Knowledge of multi-threading and asynchronous programming
- Experience with Unity or a similar game engine in professional or hobbyist capacity
- Experience with DirectX, OpenGL, Vulkan, Metal or similar graphics API
- Understanding of statistical analysis techniques
- Experience with building UI components and crafting data visualizations
