The opportunity
The System Capabilities team within Unity’s Core Engineering department is looking for a Software Developer passionate about putting users first by crafting accessible software solutions across multiple platforms.
We focus on delivering a common API for features across our supported platforms and in the Unity Editor. As part of this effort, we want to make it easier for creators to make their games accessible to everyone, and to make the Editor accessible to more creators.
You will design, implement, and integrate software accessibility features, iterate on ideas with a wide range of Unity partners and feature teams, engage directly with our users, and learn continuously. As a successful software developer at Unity, you will influence our technical direction, have an impact on our products, and improve the life of creators all over the world!
What you’ll be doing
- Craft and implement solutions to the source code to make Unity a more accessible solution for developers and customers across many platforms
- Promote high engineering standards and advocate for accessible software by default
- Collaborate with feature teams, product design and management to establish the strategy and roadmap of Accessibility features and workflows at Unity
What we’re looking for
- Industry-proven experience in professional software development with proficiency in C#, C++ and cross-platform development
- Track record of crafting clean and robust APIs
- Experience developing UI, tools, and workflows for desktop, mobile, or Web applications
- Ability to work an inclusive group to reach shared goals
You might also have
- Experience making games with Unity or extending the Unity Editor
- Experience developing software accessibility features on any platform
- General understanding of the various accessibility standards and international legislation (like WCAG or Section 508)
