Software Developer Intern, Robotics

Using our industry-leading game engine, we are creating a whole new line of products and services centered around running massively scaled simulations in the cloud. This will impact multiple industries such as Robotics and Autonomous Vehicles, and contribute to the advancement of artificial intelligence! This is an opportunity to become one of the driving members that will define a new standard for how AI systems are trained, tested, and validated. We’re looking for team members who are adaptable and who enjoy challenging the status quo.

Enabling a simple experience for setting up robotics simulation workflows using Unity is key to empowering roboticists and researchers who have limited to no experience with Unity. Your role on this team will focus on building out end-to-end robotics simulations that we can release to the community as open-source samples. Depending on your interests and skill level, the role may also involve Unity-based development of synthetic environments and scenarios for testing and training robotics systems.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of applications for robotics simulations
• Contribute to the development of virtual environments for robot training and testing
• Be a champion for the user: insist on the highest quality, and create functional and engaging features and APIs that empower customers to create with ease the greatest experience in simulations
• Write high-quality, clean code that is production-grade

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field at a Canadian university
• Experience developing robotics systems and using (or developing) simulators
• Solid skills in Python and C/C++
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design

Bonus points

• Understanding of classical mechanics/physics and how it is simulated for robotics
• Experience with Machine Learning algorithms and frameworks
• Experience with Unity Engine, 3D simulators, and game development

This internship would take place during Summer 2021
