Gearbox Publishing Amsterdam is looking for a Social Media Manager EMEA to join our growing Marcomms team and who’s ready to conquer and dazzle the EMEA market with their knowledge and experience. The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of social media management experience and has a background both on a territory and European level. This role will focus on planning, developing, implementing and executing strategies and tactics to grow our audience online for our titles. The Social Media Manager will establish a great online presence and brand value for our releases and the company with their sparkling personality and exhilarating know-how.
This Social Media Manager understand(s) the importance of good relationships, knows all the ins and outs of the ever-changing social media landscape and also has a deep understanding of the analytics and can determine how to use metrics to optimize campaigns and demonstrate ROI.
Strong interpersonal skills are required as the role will closely work with stakeholders across Communications, Community Management, Influencer Management and Marketing.

Your Tasks
- Analyze customer expectations according to past social media activity
- Develop social media campaigns channel strategy & social media campaigns
- Define KPIs for social media campaigns
- Update social media content across all channels
- Engage with customers and followers and instinctively know (and develop) a great tone of voice
- Have a deep understanding of social media tools and knows how to interpret their data
- Have a sense of creating content at the right moment, targeted at the right audience
- Keep an eye on social media trends
- Communicate effectively to all stakeholders including senior management and content developers
- Establish a working relationship with the Social Media-teams in the US and work together to strategically create Global Social Media campaigns which fit the EMEA market and ensure that the Social Media efforts are coordinated, integrated and aligned
- Coordinate with the internal design team in regard to social assets & seek brand approval from the local product manager
- Identify key opinion leaders/influencers on social media that engage with the brand or related interest fields and work closely with the EMEA influencer manager to leverage ad-hoc opportunities
- Become a key member of the Amsterdam marcomms team and ensure Social Media is aligned with other parts of the marketing wheel (PR/Marketing/Influencer Management/Community Management)
- Represent Gearbox Amsterdam at relevant media and consumer events in Europe, including Gamescom, Paris Games Week, etc.
Your Skills & Knowledge
- Experience in creating social media strategies
- Minimum of 4 years in a similar role
- Knowledge of best practices for social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, but you also see opportunities that are challenging, cheeky and out of the ordinary
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Craft engaging content and understanding where such content will resonate best in the EMEA region
- Organized and able to multitask (but let’s try and keep it at a healthy and manageable level)
- Willing to jump into a growing organization and be a part of its future DNA
- Ability to work independently and also be a valuable, fun and awesome addition to the team
