Job Description:

WoW Social Content Coordinator - Roles & Responsibilities

Position: Social Media Content Coordinator (World of Warcraft)

Role: Social Media Content Coordinator

Blizzard’s Marketing Content Operations team is seeking a driven, proactive, and skilled social media content coordinator for the World of Warcraft (WoW) franchise. This role is a full-time contract position with the possibility

to convert into a permanent position.

As part of the Marketing Content Operations team, the WoW Social Media Content Coordinator (SMCC) will partner directly with World of Warcraft Digital Managers and is directly responsible for the organization and distribution of content across WoW owned & operated social platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and others. To achieve this, the coordinator will collaborate with other key WoW content and operations teams such as Community, Consumer Marketing, Audience Development, and Creative production, in order to maintain centralized WoW Social content calendars. The coordinator will be expected to quickly develop an up-to-date knowledge of all major WoW publishing and game team activities.

The SMCC must be comfortable and proficient working in a fast-moving and dynamic environment, adapting their work and central calendars around situations that evolve daily, based on the nature of social media & publishing operations live operations. The SMCC understands that publishing activities can and will be affected by various external and internal factors, often outside of direct control of the SMCC and their immediate team. The SMCC must act as the communications center of gravity in pursuit of maintaining the most-up-to-date accuracy of the central content calendar as well as actively push information between the teams (local, regional, internal, external), so that all efforts are updated and coordinated.

The ideal candidate thrives in a highly collaborative environment and understands that proactive communication is the key to success in publishing live operations. Success in the role is defined by tenacious and active pursuit of the information and assets required to distribute WoW social content on-time and in an organized fashion - information will often not be directly pushed/provided to the coordinator. Growth in the role, and on the team is unlocked by the candidate’s ability and desire to refine and develop processes and workflows that enable the team to work more and more efficiently (constant improvement).

The content coordinator may work remotely, but must be able to work Pacific/Los Angeles hours, generally 9:00am - 5:00pm PDT. There may be instances of odd hour coverage required and sporadic weekend coverage.
