Shotgun Specialist

DigitalFish has an imminent need for a Shotgun Specialist with a deep knowledge of Shotgun workflows and implementation within the feature film and commercial visual effects and animation industries.
In this role, you will analyze the current Shotgun pipeline and architect ways to improve efficiency, process, integration with other software packages, and implementation across multiple visual effects and animation companies for one of the world’s premiere studios.
This position requires a keen understanding of Shotgun’s capabilities, best practices, and the depth to which Shotgun can be configured/manipulated to be the source of truth in the review, tracking, and information flow of digital media and assets in feature films, television series and commercials. Responsibilities
- Create and maintain templates within Shotgun for the various entities that will be leveraged to help track production data
- Design and implement a Shotgun end-to-end workflow to be handed off to multiple studios
- Develop custom integrations via the Shotgun Python API
- Use webhooks to achieve custom workflow automation on the back end, and integrate Shotgun with other production systems
- Implement tests of such workflows and respond to customer feedback with fixes and improvements
- Train key stakeholders from multiple departments and studios
Job Requirements
- Minimum 4-6 years of professional feature film and/or television series production experience designing and implementing Shotgun workflows within multiple visual effects and/or animation companies
- Minimum 4-6 years experience developing in Python or a similar scripting language
- Familiarity with visual effects and animation tracking of live action plates and elements, digital assets, shots, and sequences
- Proven experience with Agile development methodologies and tools
- Hands-on experience integrating Shotgun with third party software packages via Shotgun’s Python API

Location
Your primary work will be virtual due to COVID-19 restrictions and will stay remote once COVID-19 restrictions lift. As conditions improve, some travel to actual studios may be required.
