Service Reliability Intern
Aliso Viejo, CA
Responsibilities:
- Interns for the SRE team will have the opportunity to learn about service reliability engineering by working on operational and development tasks to improve reliability of production systems, such as:
- Build dashboards for monitoring and visibility
- Perform load and failure testing, analyze the results, and develop tools to help
- Process service requests or trouble tickets
- Automate problem remediation, incident response, and report generation
While performing such work, they will be encouraged to learn and account for reliability properties such as fault tolerance, data consistency, scalability, and security.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science (or related field), and/or within 1 year of their post-graduation date
- Linux experience
- Working knowledge of any popular programming language (Python, Golang, Java)
- Understanding of either three-tier web or services oriented architecture
- Has completed full stack development for projects
- Bonus points for working with distributed systems or common open-source components (e.g. Ceph, Nginx, ELK stack, or Kubernetes)
