Senior Visual Artist, Marcom Design Team (12-Month Contract)
EA's Marketing Communication Design Team's mission is to ignite players' imaginations through world-class design strategy and craftsmanship. We are a multidisciplinary creative team responsible for branding and visual identity, graphic design, digital media design, and motion graphics. Reporting to the Lead Designer, the Visual Artist is responsible for the hands-on support and development of assets of the visual brand identity and design system for digital/print channel executions supporting our franchise marketing campaigns that span across the whole product life cycle.
Based in EA Redwood Shores, California, you will partner with the Art Director or Senior Designer to ensure the visual identity represents our game values, resonates with our audiences, and establishes a unique look and tone. Our ideal candidate has a track record of successfully building beautiful visual art in organizations that expect nothing less than A+ work. Additionally, this candidate must thrive in a collaborative environment, adapt well to a continually evolving industry, possess basic or practical knowledge of branding, video, and digital design, and generally carry positive energy that benefits the greater team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Concept and create world-class visual assets that can help strengthen the overall visual system to support all marketing and promotional campaigns. The visual system exploration includes the 2D/3D rendering of logos and typography, 3D illustrations, graphic elements, textures, VFX effects, and possible motion-based solutions.
- Partner with the art directors and senior designers to create work that unifies the marketing strategy, game vision, and design system.
- Inspire and partner in the creative development of specific visual systems to ensure consistency across executions.
- Understand and support a unified visual language and conceptual thinking behind creating beautiful designs that work. Also, have the ability to interpret creative feedback and data into iterative visuals. A multi-revision process is often part of our work.
- Must have the desire to push the visuals forward, ahead of industry trends, and not merely follow current ones.
- Ensure consistency and quality benchmarks are met in execution.
- Ensure that creative complies with the brand, platform, and licensor guidelines and industry-standard specs.
- Work in a hands-on environment that requires flexibility, imagination, a can-do attitude, a sense of fun, and the desire to learn and grow.
Skills and Experience:
- 6+ years of experience at a design or VFX production agency.
- Ability to develop ideas from concept to execution.
- Have the ability to communicate concepts through sketches or visuals if needed.
- Excellent composition/framing skills and sense of scale, timing, detail, form, texture and color.
- Expert experience creating 2D and 3D assets, and hand painted/rendered textures from scratch or from existing materials.
- Experience developing visual language across an ecosystem of effects.
- Be creative and bring a fresh perspective while working within the brand and project parameters.
- Capable of juggling multiple projects within tight deadlines.
- Intrinsically motivated and able to work independently, with excellent time management skills and a strong work ethic.
- Must be comfortable making changes to work based upon layered feedback.
- Experience with Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Cinema4D, Maya, 3D Studio Max, image retouching, and 3D modeling.
- Experience in creating visual systems for global brands in digital, motion, print, and environmental channels is a plus.

Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Additional experience in related fields is a plus.
