Senior User Interface Artist

We are seeking a talented User Interface (UI) Artist with a passion for crafting highly usable and beautiful interfaces. Your mission is to define the visual style of the engine’s editor. The editor is the command center of the entire game engine. Teams across Blizzard will use this tool every day to build awesome games. The editor must be highly usable, feel welcoming, and look slick. You’ll work closely with our UX designers and developers from all disciplines to achieve this goal.

Responsibilities

• Define the visual style for the editor including iconography, color, fonts, and interface elements
• Be a partner to UX in designing the best game editing user experience possible
• Create concepts, visual mock-ups, and prototypes
• Develop motion comps and explore the appropriate use of animation
• Create final art assets for the editor
• Assist engineers with implementation to ensure the final product reflects the design vision
• Receive actionable feedback and iterate as appropriate

Requirements

• A passion for user interfaces, art, graphic design, and animation
• A minimum of 3 years of UI art/design experience
• Ability to navigate the balance between visually pleasing and functional user interfaces
• Expert knowledge of art tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects
• Excellent communication skills for gathering feedback and presenting concepts

Pluses

• Experience designing game tool interfaces or other desktop applications
• General familiarity with user-centered design best practices and trends
• Experience using 3 rd Party tools and game engine editors
• Shipped at least one AAA game as a UI artist/designer
• A passion for video games
