Senior Unity Developer (VR) - Freelance

ustwo is looking for a talented freelance Senior Unity Developer to join our team for a 3-month contract prototyping experiments that will inspire a Travel and Hospitality brand’s first foray into the Metaverse. You’ll work with a tight-knit cross-discipline team of developers, designers, artists, and project managers. This role will start as soon as mid-September, running through the beginning of December.
This is a full-time/40-hour a week contract position starting mid-September and lasting through early December. Please provide a link to your online portfolio as well as any released games or experiences you have contributed to.
Requirements
- Proficiency in C#, object oriented programming, and best coding practices.
- Vast experience building 3D projects with Unity.
- The ability to understand and apply 3D mathematical concepts.
- Experience building experiences in VR (ideally Quest)
- Knowledge of game engine concepts such as lighting, shaders, materials, meshes, scripting, etc.
- The ability to understand source control (Perforce, Git etc).
- Experience with 3D physics programming.
- Experience integrating audio using tools or plugins.
- Experience with Unity Mecanim and Legacy workflows, or engine equivalents.
- Familiarity working with game concepts such as 3D models, animations, GUI, shaders, and effects.
- Familiarity with Unity systems such as Unity UI, Prefabs, Collision, Navmesh, Mecanim or other engine equivalents.
Desirable
- A passion for games, especially a wide variety of genres.
- Knowledge of game pipelines outside of your own discipline.
- Knowledge of performance profiling and debugging.
- Experience with Cinemachine and Timeline or engine equivalents.
- An active Github account / open source contributions.
