Job Description
Red Storm is seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior User Experience Designer to help create our next AAA success. Do you have a passion for creating excellent experiences for co-op and head to head shooters? If you have what it takes, you could be the next to join our dynamic seasoned team of multiplayer gurus creating AAA multiplayer games!
Job Responsibilities:
- Design & create static and animated user interfaces for AAA video games.
- Design logical layouts and flows for in-game user interfaces across multiple platforms.
- Work with Game Designers to translate their designs into user interfaces.
- Create menus that are intuitive, easy to navigate and convey information to maximize end user experience.
- Consult and give feedback on design and other user experience related aspects.
- Create wireframes, user flow diagrams, and high-fidelity prototypes to solidify design direction and plans.
- Experience/ability to conduct usability testing, from paper prototypes to implementation.
- Be able to interpret and apply user research.
- Flexible direction, able to take critique constructively.
- Strong knowledge of information architecture by building design systems and creating strong documentation.
- Experience/ability to create personas and write user stories.
- Help ideate solutions for existing pain points.
- Advocate for the end user.
- Experience/ability to conduct competitor analysis.
- Strong interest/desire to help establish UX as its own autonomous department.
- Be self-directed; work independently and collaboratively with team members to solve challenges.
- Communicate and collaborate with all members of the team to create a friendly and efficient work environment.
- Identify priorities and gaps in current designs, and contribute/iterate creative solutions.
- Be diligent and insure quality of work in a fast paced, team based highly iterative development environment.
Qualifications
- A strong design or user experience background.
- Relevant undergraduate degree and/or equivalent experience preferred.
- Be able to conceptualize, present and execute ideas within a tight schedule.
- 5+ years of experience in games or equivalent.
- Extensive knowledge in design and wire-framing tools (Adobe XD, Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Experience and ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative user research.
- Experience in designing localized SKUs.
- Experience designing with accessibility in mind.
- Strong artistic, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of UI in games across multiple genres on all platforms.
- Strong interpersonal skills-able to interact with team members of different disciplines.
- Willingness to respond to and adapt to artistic criticism.
- Deep passion for games as a craft.
- Good positive attitude and outlook.
