PeopleFun seeks a multitalented Sr. UX Designer who has a passion for the inner workings of games, especially in the casual/mobile space. You’ll work on exploring, fine tuning, and proposing game features for our new and existing projects that are seen by millions of players daily.
As a Sr. UX Designer, you will be an integral part of the pipeline, working with our team leads to design user flows, create presentations, and refine ux passes for our features. Initiating the design is just the start of the process, as you iterate with the team through development and evolve the feature with additional research and user data, ultimately creating endearing experiences for our players. You will be surrounded by passionate people who will challenge you to become an even better game developer every day.
Responsibilities
- Produce wireframes, pre-visualization prototypes, full flows, team and stakeholder presentations, mock-ups and design documentation for different teams
- Help facilitate cross-functional design discussions/workshopping sessions and represent the voice of the player during these sessions
- Be a champion for UX design standards and help educate team members on usability best practices
- Designing user interfaces and interaction architecture to work with game features
Requirements
- Experience designing within the mobile space with at least 1 shipped title as a UX designer.
- Mastery of pre-visualization/prototyping tools (e.g. Invision, Figma, Adobe XD, etc.)
- Gamer who understands and deconstructs successful UX.
- A demonstrated knowledge of UX best practices, ideally through work samples and/or a portfolio that can validate your approach to experience design.
- Ability to understand the key pillars of a game or feature and iterate toward the best player experience possible.
- Ability to communicate clearly your design by referencing the best practices and expanding on comps that inspire solutions being presented to the team.
- Familiarity with feature design in the mobile free-to-play gaming space.
- The ability to work seamlessly with a variety of team members: Give meaningful feedback to design documents, work with artists on exploring ideas for the visuals to support player feedback, work with Project Management on areas to focus the experience around, and with User Research on what data we should use and look for to help inform further and future development.
- You need the passion and ability to own the entire UX process by aligning and evolving a feature design through its life-cycle.
Desired Skills
- UI experience and knowledge of visual/graphic design best practices
- Proficiency with visual design tools (e.g. Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Balsamiq etc.)
- Familiarity with user research trends/procedures and experience organizing/conducting usability tests on proprietary products
- Working knowledge of the Unity game development platform
- Experience working within a sprint structure alongside a multi-disciplined team
