The Senior UX Designer will work closely with a team of UX Designers, UI Artists, UI Technical Designers, and Engineers to build compelling, usable, and accessible interfaces that shape how players interact with the game.
Responsibilities include establishing information architecture and flows, UI screens and heads-up display wireframes and prototypes for a multitude of areas in the game. All solutions should be intuitive and consistent with UX guidelines as established by our UX/UI Director and Studio Art Director.
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Translate game systems and game play goals into intuitive UI screens and HUDs that support and enhance the game experience
- Create IA maps, flow diagrams, and low-fidelity wireframes and prototypes to communicate design concepts for discussion and play testing
- Produce finished design specifications with detailed requirements and use cases for final game UI screen and HUDs
- Work closely with UI Artists, UI Technical Designers, and Engineers to implement and ensure quality to in-engine
- Work closely with Producers and Directors to estimate work and assist in prioritizing
- Mentor and empower junior UX Designers
Player Profile
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience developing HD console games, software, mobile or web applications, or similar digital products
- A portfolio showcasing work samples demonstrating UX Design process from research, design, and iteration phases through final deliverable
- Minimum of 5+ years as a UX Designer, Product Designer, or similar role
- Expert analytical and problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of user-centered design principles
- Expert in working with UX Researchers to conducting play tests and distill data and feedback to ensure usability for players
- Awareness of trends in hardware and operating systems, interface design, interactive design, and competitive software to help find opportunities for innovation
- Expert communication skills and ability to present work and clearly articulate design decisions and inspire UX/UI team and other collaborators
- Expert skills with UX Design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD or similar
- Strong skills in UI Visual Design tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and more
- Knowledge of UI scripting languages such as using Lua, Flash/ActionScript (or similar)
- Passion for games and game development
