We're looking for a Senior UI/UX Design Lead to join our team at Hypixel Studios , which collaborates remotely from around the world. Our members range from industry newcomers to experts with 25+ years of experience. Team members come from a diverse set of backgrounds, but share a common passion for building polished player-focused, community-powered games.

As the UI/UX Design Lead you will help mentor and lead our UI/UX team. You will guide the team in creating user friendly interfaces that provide players with a frictionless game experience. Working closely with other disciplines such as art, game design, audio, and others, you will be a champion for the player’s needs by planning for and designing accessible, delightful experiences throughout the development of Hytale.

- You are a champion and advocate on behalf of the player; a strong, critical mind when it comes to player experience and how to remove frictions between the player and the game they play
- You are passionate about creating inclusive and accessible experiences that benefit all player types, while not sacrificing the intended vision of gameplay
- You are a low ego and player focused designer who seeks opportunities to evangelize on behalf of the player experience, not just within your team, but within your entire organization
- You are driven by what the player does, and why they do it; bolstering your arsenal of UX and UI tools with empathy and real world player data
Some of your role:
- Mentor, guide, and manage the UI/UX team comprised of UI artists and UX designers as well as advocate for UI/UX throughout the studio
- Oversee the development of UX and UI deliverables from inception to launch, as well as post launch, while working closely with feature stakeholders
- Set and broadly communicate the UX and UI design vision through deliverables that demonstrate the player journey such as design systems, prototypes, and user flows
- Drive UX and UI best practices, and pipeline improvements to support the shared vision as you collaborate with discipline leads in art, game design, etc.
- Lead our accessibility efforts and evangelize for accessible design across the studio
Essential Traits:
- 5+ years of industry experience as a user experience designer, information architect, or similar UX-related role
- Experience organizing and managing a team, providing mentorship and professional development to UX designers and UI artists
- Excellent communication and planning skills with the ability to execute independently
- Deep knowledge of industry standard software, workflows, and technical aspects of UI implementation
- An outstanding portfolio demonstrating your UX design thinking
