Day in the life
In this role you will have:
Hands-on responsibilities:
- Work on the UI design (User Flow, Menus and HUD) to meet design goals
- Work closely with all disciplines – code, design, audio, animation, FX – to design an exceptional user experience throughout the game
- Create and iterate on UI prototypes and documentation
- Work closely with UI Artists and Engineers to deliver the most consistent, best possible user experience while staying within the engineers’ technical requirements
- Take an active role in implementation and feature delivery
Leadership responsibilities:
- Lead a cross-discipline UI team
- Collaborate with the Lead Game Designer to execute the game vision on our own games
- Collaborate with producers and project stakeholders to create project planning
- Collaborate with the Lead Designer and producers to ensure successful completion of projects on time and within budget
Managerial responsibilities:
- Serve as an expert advocate for improving UI/UX toolset and workflow
- Assess and document UI/UX design requirements for adaptation and co-development projects
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
Must-have experience and skills
On day one we'll expect you to have:
- Senior UI/UX Designer credits for at least one released game
- 3+ years of practical UI/UX work experience in the games industry
- Have created a complex UX flow for at least one shipped title
- Have knowledge of best-in-class UX design across multiple genres and platforms
- Have basic knowledge of LUA or any other scripting language
- Have practical skills in 2D animation
- Have an understanding of the connection between UI functionality and aesthetics
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Work well within a medium to large team of multi-discipline game developers
- Able to multitask, prioritize and deliver to deadlines
- Comfortable interacting with executives, external partners and clients
- Be fluent in English
What separates the best from the rest
Ideally you have:
- 5+ years of games industry experience
- Experience in Game Design
- Proficiency in Visual Design
- Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills
Work location and time zone
- Fully remote during COVID-19 pandemic
- Fully remote or onsite post-COVID-19 pandemic
- Working hours are within the European time zone (CET)
